Take Action
International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict
June 19, 2021
We join the June 19th International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict by standing in solidarity with women and girls in Tigray and refugee camps.
We call upon African feminists, black feminists, global feminists, human rights defenders, and peacebuilders to join the #Campaign4her call to action to put an immediate stop to rape and other forms of sexual violence used as a weapon of war in Ethiopia’s conflict-hit Tigray region.
It is on all of us to stand in solidarity and amplify the voices of women and girls in Tigray. In the face of injustice, silence is not an option. Each one of us has a role to play to stop the violence and demand that all perpetrators be held accountable. Now, more than ever, we need feminist collective action to protect women and girls in Tigray, to provide the support they need, to end their suffering, and to promote peace.
